Weld imperfections
Weld imperfections must be identified, classified and evaluated against the applicable acceptance criteria. The module covers geometry, causes, prevention, inspection and the distinction between an imperfection and a rejectable defect.

ISO 6520-1 classifies imperfections. ISO 5817 a ISO 10042 set acceptance limits by quality level. The drawing, product standard or contract then determines whether a particular imperfection is acceptable.
